Sync your work schedule directly to your personal calendar.
Many calendar apps, such as Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple Calendar, allow you to subscribe to external calendars via a URL, automatically syncing your schedule for shift updates. To find your personal calendar URL, log into the ShiftNote app (mobile or desktop).
- Navigate to Profile Settings, and copy the provided URL. Then, follow the steps below to add it to your calendar app.
Important Notes:
Google Calendar refreshes subscribed calendars only once daily, a limitation that cannot be changed. In contrast, Apple Calendar, Outlook, and other apps often allow for more frequent syncs. Please note that the schedule is read-only; you can view your shifts but cannot edit them directly in the app.
Step-by-Step Instructions for Popular Calendar Apps:
1. Google Calendar:
- Open Google Calendar.
- On the left-hand side, under "Other Calendars," click the + button.
- Select From URL.
- Paste your schedule link and click Add Calendar.
- Your schedule will now appear under "Other Calendars."
2. Apple Calendar (iPhone, iPad, or Mac):
- Open the Calendar app.
- Go to File > New Calendar Subscription.
- Paste your schedule link and click Subscribe.
- Set the refresh frequency to your preference (you can set this to refresh more often than Google Calendar).
- Click OK. Your schedule will now be visible in your calendar.
3. Outlook (Desktop or Mobile):
- For Desktop: Open your calendar and select Add Calendar > From Internet.
- For Mobile: Go to your calendar and choose Subscribe via URL.
- Paste your schedule link and click Add.
- Your schedule will now be synced with your Outlook calendar.
